Who we are
In the village of Baldovar, in the Serranía de Valencia, in Alto Turia (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Starlight Destination for the quality of its skies), wines have been made since 1958, vinifying in enormous, humid underground concrete and stone tanks. , and selling the wine from a small warehouse. These were the beginnings of the San Roque de Baldovar cooperative.
In 2016, they are looking for the ideal place to house their project: restore the iconic place where wines were made in the cooperative era, to give hope and welcome back all the people who have survived, and relive the experience of seeing the old cooperative of San Roque in Baldovar standing.
What we do
Baldovar 923 is mountain, village, origin and terroir. They act on the plots, being nature’s assistants. They observe, think, feel and make decisions so that the passage of time gives the grapes particular aromas, flavors and nutritional quality.
It is a setting for organic agriculture and biodynamic culture, capturing the landscape of the Serranía del Alto Turia in the wines they make. They manage their vineyard area with organic and biodynamic agriculture in an area with great potential: native varieties, particular terroir, altitude as a standard, quality grapes and a unique place to make wine. Wines with more balanced indexes, with greater depth and organoleptic complexity, and with a superior aging capacity.

The wine culture of the geographical demarcation of this Denomination of Origin is ancestral, finding its roots in the Phoenicians, who introduced the first wine strains to that territory. Over the centuries, wine-growing activity has been increasing and consolidating its implementation in our province, and the marketing of wines has been extraordinarily consolidated in recent years. The DO traces its origin to 1932, after the approval of the Wine Statute, becoming one of the most representative and historic designations of the national wine sector. In 1957, when the Regulation of the Regulatory Council for wines from the province of Valencia was approved, protected by the Denominations of Origin “Valencia”, “Utiel-Requena” and “Cheste”.
Upper Turia. Its geographical area is identified with the most northwestern point of the province of Valencia. They are lands of high peaks, harsh winters and dry summers, where the vine is grown between 700 and 1,100 meters. Almost all of the cultivated varieties are white, among which Merseguera and Macabeo stand out.
